Disclaimer

This simple online Mount Analysis Tool known as the “MA Tool” is NOT intended to be used to evaluate actual mount capacity. This simple MA Tool is intended to provide APPROXIMATE load analysis for CONCEPTUAL purposes only. Do NOT design equipment/appurtenance configurations or layouts of any type based on this simple online MA Tool.

Notes

  • You may obtain your Mount Classifications from the mount manufacturer.

  • If the manufacturer does not provide this information you may contract with an Engineer who is experienced with wireless mounts to conduct a detailed Mount Analysis.

  • The detailed Mount Analysis report should contain the Mount Classification per analysis results.

  • You may obtain appurtenance EPAs and weights from the manufacturer (or from actual measurements).

  • This tool is limited to Mount Category R which is for a “normal” wireless mount situations such as a mount pipe with antennas and RRUs.
  • Wind loads used in this tool are approximations based on the ANSI/TIA-222-H formula shown.

  • The wind loads are approximations because certain factors and/or variables have been “assumed” for ease of use.

  • The assumptions used are not applicable in all cases. Precise load calculations are beyond the scope and capability of this simple online tool.

  • The horizontal loading calculations do NOT address the presence of ice because horizontal wind loading is not greatly affected by ice 0.3 inches of radial ice (which is typical for the Midwest region).  Adding ice to the horizontal loading calculations is beyond the scope of this simple Mount Analysis Tool.  Please order a detailed Mount Analysis if you wish to include radial ice with horizontal loading calculations.
  • This simple online MA Tool does not address Risk Category, Topographic Factor or Wake Interference Factor.

  • If you require a more precise, detailed Mount Analysis we recommend you contract with a licensed Professional Engineer who is experienced with wireless mounts.

  • If your equipment configuration exceeds 80% in Vertical Usage OR Horizontal Usage we highly recommend that you contact a Professional Engineer to discuss the necessity for a detailed Mount Analysis.

  • We also recommend that you contact a Professional Engineer if you have ANY questions or comments regarding proposed equipment configurations on mounts of any type, existing and/or proposed.
